If you
visit KaptainMyke Shirts & More
at http://www.cafepress.com/kaptainmyke
and you
like the site, look at the banners on this
page.
Find
a banner you wish to use on your site. Next,
right click it and check properties to learn
that the image URL (website address) is
http://kreations.kaptainmyke.com/cp/banners/IMAGENAME.GIF
. Save
this preffered banner on your own
webspace and note the location
of the image. This saves bandwidth on
KaptainMyke's site.
Go
to Commission Junction
and pick any 468 X 60 banner for Cafe Press
- any one. Get html as
though you are going to use that banner.
On the html page that results, you will
see fields that read "advertiser allows
image redirect and URL redirect."
A
box asks if you want to substitute an image.
This means do you want something other than
the Cafe Press banner you just picked, so
type in the image redirect box: location
of saved banner uploaded on your own webspace
(http://www.yourwebsite.com/path/yourimage.gif)
. Now CJ will use
the saved KaptainMyke banners instead of
Cafe Press' banners.
NOTE:
If you are using leaderboards
or skyscraper banners, just be sure to adjust
the image banner dimensions in your final
image code after copy/paste into your websites.
In
the next box below, you will see the URL
redirect option. It presently says http://click.cafepress.com/cj.aspx.
But, you don't want the reader to go to
Cafe Press, right? You want the reader to
go to KaptainMyke's, so REPLACE http://click.cafepress.com/cj.aspx
with http://www.cafepress.com/kaptainmyke
.
Now
click "Update html."
The window shows the html redirecting to
KaptainMyke's cafepress shop and it will
display the banners you wish to use. Cut
and Paste that html into your site. It creates
a banner that will take clickers to KaptainMyke's
totally cool movie and tv shirts.
You
get to use any banner you find to send traffic
to any destination you
so choose. Under URL REDIRECT field, if
you want to point to a specific section,
just insert "http://www.cafepress.com/kaptainmyke/SECTIONNUMBER"
instead. Example: for the movie section
of tees, the official url is http://www.cafepress.com/kaptainmyke/1389667.
See the "slash" followed by the
number of the section? It's easy!
